Situation: Kim Han and I were ’studying’ at McD’s one night and I was dying of boredom. So I decided to ask him a super random question and I was expecting a ‘university student’ answer from him you see. But instead, this was what I got.

Me: What is the internet to you?

KH: “In” is like.. dalam*. “Net” is like… Erm.. Networking in the web. That sort of thing, you know?

Me: Then how about the “Ter”?

KH: Oh ter ah.. Err.. Uhm… Errrrr…. *After thinking real hard for some eyon years*

Me: Oi, what is it lah?!

KH: AH I KNOW! Ter is like, a spiderweb!

Me: Wtf, what spiderweb are you talking about? I know what a spiderweb is la but what has it gotta do with the internet?

KH: “Ter” in Malay is usually used to describe an ‘accidental’ action right? Like, terjatuh is like accidentally falling down that kinda thing?

Me: Err, yeah. *Thinking where the hell this was going*

KH: So, “Ter” is like when the spider TER-ludah (accidentally spat**) the web out. That’s why when you combine, you get IN-TER-NET! Dalam-Web-Yang-Terludah-Oleh-Spider!

Me: ……………………… OMG WTF. You can like, go join my father’s club.

*Dalam is the literal translation of the word “in” in BM (Bahasa Melayu).

** He actually means the spider spinning the web.

Wtf, I sometimes doubt Kim Han’s intelligence lor. (-.-”) Where got university student answer like that one?! But you can’t blame him lar. It was about 12 AM at that time and we both were going nuts over our Law tutorial homework. Thus, the ever-intelligent answer from him.

Okay, 12:56 AM now. I’ve an 8 AM lecture tomorrow and I’m still in my smelly clothes. Heading for a nice warm shower.

I might blog after that if I feel like it. Or I just might be a bitch and go watch Nip/Tuck instead. Hee! Not like many of you read lah. Oh wells.

P/s: I’m really sorry for the uber boring post. I try to make it a point to blog everyday although it’s just a short one. Tonight, I’m really tired and for the first time (in my WordPress blog) I’m having some form of blockage and I can’t seem to blog about anything except well, that intelligent conversation I had with Kim Han. So please bear with me and I’ll be back in action real soon (I hope!).
